La Delizia's Prosecco DOC Extra Dry is made with passion and tradition in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Fine and persistent bubbles carry fresh citrus flavours with hints of peach and lemon. This is a crisp and fresh expression of a well made Prosecco DOC. Drink now.
The grapes used to make this prosecco are handpicked and carefully selected at the vineyards. Both the first and second fermentation take place in stainless steel tanks before the wine is bottled. This Prosecco DOC, drier than its Conegliano cousin, is a real contender in the world of Prosecco.
La Delizia, Friuli Venezia Giulia
The Friuli Venezia Giulia region, although less known in the UK, has an ancient history in winemaking and produces some of the best wines in Italy. La Delizia Viticoltori Friulani is a cooperative founded in 1931 which, over the years, helped a wide range of very small vine growers to thrive and survive in a very competitive market.
Glera is a traditional Italian grape mainly grown in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The provenance of this grape is disputed but some believe its origins could be traced to the town Prosecco, near the Italian border with Slovenia. Also known as the prosecco grape, Glera makes wines that are light, high in acidity with gentle notes of ripe white stone fruit.
