Sardegna, Italy
Antonella Corda is the granddaughter of the renowned viticulturist Antonio Argiolas. Antonio left Antonella two of his most prized vineyards around the village of Serdiana when he passed away at the grand age of 104.
The climate here is mild. There is plentiful water, and the soils are rich and calcareous, which gives her wines a unique character and freshness.
Antonella's approach to winemaking blends a century of family traditions with ambition and innovation. She follows a sustainable approach and her vineyards are cultivated organically.
The Vermentino is grown in Antonio’s favourite vineyard: Mitza Manna. This six-hectare vineyard has calcareous soils that enhance this variety’s natural freshness and floral bouquet. Aged for six months on its lees in stainless-steel vats, this is a fragrant and intense wine with enticing Mediterranean herb notes.
The Cannonau comes from the Mitza S‘Ollastu vineyard. Here the soil, a mixture of clay, loam, sand and pebbles, ensures the perfect balance to give the wine a decisive character. Thanks to the very light use of oak, Antonella has created a very elegant wine with typical Cannonau aromas, very delicate tannins and a spicy hint of white pepper on the finish.
