Valpolicella is the birthplace of one of Italy’s most prominent red wines: the Amarone Della Valpolicella, which is up there with the likes of Super Tuscans, Barolo, and Brunello.
In this online wine tasting, we will be comparing and contrasting seven Valpolicella wines from two producers where you’ll get to taste first hand the differences between production methods.
Now that lockdown restrictions are easing and (at the time of writing) groups of 6 will be allowed to meet indoors, we’ve created a tasting option for 6 people. We’ll send you full bottles of each wine rather than our usual samples, which works out at just over £33 per person and 7 glasses of wine each!
Valpolicella is most notable for the Amarone Della Valpolicella but there are other Valpolicella wines made with the same grapes as Amarone that use different production techniques to create wines that are uniquely different.
In this online wine tasting, we’ll be sampling 3 types of Valpolicella wine, including Amarone, from two different producers and finishing off with Valpolicella’s renowned dessert wine - Recioto Della Valpolicella. That’s a total of 7 wines.
Tickets for group sizes of 1 or 2 will receive a 60ml sample of each wine for each person - enough for a full appreciation of the wine. Plus, you’ll receive a tasting mat and blank tasting notes so you can record your verdict as you sample each wine.
Tickets for groups of 6 will receive 7 full bottles of wine rather than samples.
And if you want to make the tasting even more special, you can choose to include cheese with your order. We've selected three kinds of Italian cheese (total of 150g) that pair wonderfully with all the Valpolicella wines on tasting.
