In this online wine tasting we will be looking back at the history of Primitivo and tasting four examples side by side where you'll get to taste first hand the similarities and differences between growers and terroir.
Primitivo is Puglia's flagship wine and one of Southern Italy's leading red grapes known for its wild-berry, earthy, and rustic characteristics with high sugar/alcohol levels.
Primitivo fell out of fashion in the early 1990s as winemakers were incentivised by the EU to rip up their vines. All of this changed just a couple of decades ago after a very interesting discovery and since then Primitivo has been making its mark as an exciting varietal.

To keep this online wine tasting event accessible we're running it in two formats: you can opt for tasting sample packs, a great choice to keep the costs down, or go all out and opt for four full bottles of wine. Each sample pack is 80ml, enough for a full appreciation of the wine for one person.
And if you want to make the tasting even more special you can choose to include cheese with your order. We've selected three kinds of Italian cheese (total of 150g) that pair wonderfully with Primitivo.
