Glera is a traditional Italian grape mainly grown in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The provenance of this grape is disputed but some believe its origins could be traced to the town Prosecco, near the Italian border with Slovenia. Also known as the prosecco grape, Glera makes wines that are light, high in acidity with gentle notes of ripe white stone fruit.
