Cantina di Nizza's Barbera d'Asti Superiore has aromas of plums and cherries and hints of dried fruit from the ageing process. The wine has a rich and supple palate with a refreshing acidity and high concentration of flavours.

After careful selection of the grapes, fermentation was carried out for about 10 days at a controlled temperature of 28°C in stainless- steel vats. Malolactic fermentation took place in the same tanks, just after the end of the alcoholic fermentation. The wine was then racked in large Slavonian oak casks for six months before bottling.

Grapes for this wine come from Nizza Monferrato and surrounding areas. Vineyards are south / south – west facing at 200-300 m above sea level and soil is calcareous clayey marl. Vines are planted with Guyot system and they average 10 to 30 years of age.

The 2017 harvest is remembered for the frost on the days of 20th – 21st – 22nd April and for the scarcity of rainfall and high temperatures in the summer period. Barbera has benefited from these conditions with excellent grapes both for health and for concentration of flavours and sugar. The harvest began on September 1st and ended on September 20th.
